The GPSA Global Partners Forum 2016 was held in Washington DC from 19 – 20th May. Uganda National NGO Forum was honored to be one of the hundreds of practitioners from across the globe, and the social accountability landscape who attended. Sessions covered a number of topics including state-society collaboration, the 2017 World Development report and sector specific presentations.

Richard Ssewakiryanga, Executive Director UNNGOF was in attendance and you can read his reflections of the said meeting at the link below;

This year, the Global Partners Forum’s central theme was ‘Social Accountability for Development Impact.’ At the Forum, a deep dive into thinking about initiatives – both citizen and state-led – that revolve around the trends of Learning for Adaptive Management, Constructive Engagement to Co-Production and Inclusive Institutions was held to help move the field to the next phase.  Breaking silos and working jointly to sort out the challenges has the potential to be transformative and strategically strengthen the social accountability field.
