The Uganda National NGO Forum Institutional Structure is anchored around three main organs: a) the Annual General Meeting; b) the UNNGOF Board; and c) the UNNGOF Secretariat:
The Annual General Assembly (AGA): This is the supreme governance organ for the organisation and comprises all paid-up members of the Uganda National NGO Forum. It meets annually to play a strategic oversight role, approve organizational policies, deliberate on issues of strategic importance and holds the Board and Management accountable for agreed decisions.
The Board: The Board is the penultimate governance organ of the organisation. It is composed of 13 persons of whom 11 are directly elected in accordance with the UNNGOF Constitution, 2 are appointed as Independents through an extensive process involving Management, the Board and the AGM, and the 13th Person is the Executive Director who is Secretary to the Board and also an Ex-Officio. The Board supervises the Secretariat and ensures that decisions and policy proposals made at the AGM are reasonably implemented. The Board normally meets thrice a year, unless an extra ordinary meeting is convened.
The Secretariat: This is headed by the Executive Director. The Secretariat is charged with the delivery of day to day activities of the organisation. See links for details of current staff members.
