As people, our health is a big preoccupation. We exercise, we eat well, we try and get enough sleep, we go through medical check-ups and much more. We know that if we are unhealthy we are not able to live the life we want. For organizations, health is all the above – but structured differently. The three key elements of a healthy organization usually rotates around; one – clarity of vision and mission, two – ability to turn ideas into action and three – capacity for renewal. I would want to argue that as a civil society sector these three elements are very relevant to us. Clarity of vision and mission, ability to turn ideas into action and capacity to renew ourselves (or be sustainable) is the DNA of civil society. As a theoretical point, it is easy to make such a claim. But what does this mean in practice?
