Ladies and Gentlemen
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to this consultative meeting on Uganda Vision 2040 with the theme: “A transformed Ugandan society from a peasant to a modern and prosperous country within 30 years”. I would like to first congratulate the NPA for working hard to generate a discussion document that is before us this morning. That is a very noble task and indeed we are happy that consultations are going on. In the spirit of consultation, I will make a few remarks on the subject matter just for ‘starters’.
Ladies and Gentlemen; while writing these remarks I did find an interesting definition of what visioning is. The definition was that visioning is; seeing what is invisible to others. Continuing on the same path and remembering my classes in philosophy logic classes, I thought to myself, that indeed to see what is invisible requires a certain level of inspiration. When one is inspired, then one can have creativity to turn that inspiration into a vision and then one day it becomes reality.
