Which Presidential Manifesto best addresses Citizens’ Issues?
Beyond the excitement of campaign rallies, the music and dance that will soon come to an end, it is important that citizens get to understand exactly what the presidential candidates are promising in their manifestos.
KAMPALA – February 13, 2016. The Presidential and Parliamentary Elections take place on Thursday February 18th 2016. Ugandans will be voting for a new president and over 400 Members of Parliament. A lot has been going on in the campaign trail – listening, spending and promising.
However, beyond the excitement and sometimes empty talk at rallies, Ugandans need to interrogate the real commitments our presidential candidates are making in their manifestos. Manifestos are important because they outlast excitement of rallies and thus become an important reference point to hold leaders accountable.
