From the 22nd – 24th January 2016, the Uganda National National NGO Forum working together with Uwezo Uganda and A-C-O-R-D Arua rolled out a learning assessment for Arua district Primary schools. The 3 days assessment, facilitated by Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), took place in 10 schools/ villages of Arua including Idioa, Egara B, Academy, Ayiforo, Mvara Central, Anori, Adovu, Oli D, Adravu and Ayelembe.

Bukedi Region Launches the Regional Manifesto

Citizens and leaders from the Bukedi region have today the 27th January 2016 launched the Regional and National Manifestos as a basis for their five year mutual accountability agenda. The event, organized by the Pallisa Civil Society Forum with support from the Uganda National NGO Forum, brought together more than 300 political leaders, aspiring candidates from the different political parties, religious leaders, youth and women and specialized citizens’ formations from across six districts of the region.

Wednesday, 13th January 2016 marked a new beginning in the youth discussion as young people interacted with their ambassadors to promote their own manifesto. These were not the official ambassadors as set in government public administrative offices, but entertainment icons that young people follow and look up to. These included Fille, Vampino, Micheal Ross, Irene Ntale and Santana. The five ambassadors will be representing the 5 key issues raised by the youth in their manifesto for 2016 and beyond; Sports and Creative Arts; Health; Education; Participation; and Jobs
