The afternoon of Friday the 23rd of October was one filled with passion and brutal honesty as analysts, students, civil society actors, academia, thought leaders and members of the security forces assembled in Makerere University’s Main Hall to discuss Uganda’s preparedness for the 2016 general elections. On Monday 9th November 2015, the National Citizens Manifesto will be launched in a televised event at Hotel Africana, Nile Hall and starting at 1:30 PM. The launch will be attended by over 2000 key government technocrats, Members of Parliament, Development Partners, Media Personnel, representatives from the Academia, Civil Society as well as citizen organizations.

STOCKHOLM CIVIL SOCIETY WEEK, OCTOBER 12TH – 16TH, 2015

The Uganda National NGO Forum participated in the first Stockholm Civil Society Week, organized by SIDA, the Swedish development agency, convening Swedish and international CSOs, donors and government representatives. The event took place in parallel to the meeting of the International Donor Group, a network of donors to civil society organizations, where the Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA) represents the World Bank. The event attracted hundreds of guests from CSOs, governments, academia and the private sector.

As part of its activities towards membership servicing, Uganda National NGO Forum (UNNGOF), organized the first induction workshop for the newly elected Bugisu Civil Society Network (BUCINET) Board on Monday 14th September 2015, at Kayira Hotel in Mbale Municipality.

Attended by 10 BUCINET Board members and facilitated by the Head of Programmes, UNNGOF, Mr. Alfred Nuamanya, this induction focused on enabling Board members to understand key parameters of an effective Board and how to function effectively for the good of their organization.

On 25th September 2015 in Luwero district,  the last of the four regional Social Accountability Learning events for Central region took place.
