The Beauty of Collaborative Philanthropy
In a bid to achieve high impact for the ever-limited resources, collaborative efforts are desired. Collaboration is critical in solving some of the world’s most daunting social challenges.
This is what was witnessed on the 7th-9th June 2024 in Jinja, during the leaders’ summit that was convened by CivSource Africa, CivLegacy Foundation and the Gabula Royal Foundation.
Themed “Right People Right Conversation” this leadership summit was a testimony of how collaborative philanthropy looks like. It provided space for civic leaders to connect and have heartwarming and enlightening conversations, sitting at the feet of elders from Busoga and learning from their life lessons, donating scholastic materials and an empowering session on menstrual hygiene for pupils of Kivubuka primary school, and gifting old women (grandmothers) in Kivubuka Village. All these efforts ignited a feeling of love, recognition and celebration amongst the residents.
Emerging strongly from the leaders’ summit was the importance of building meaningful connections and partnerships. This is a key enabler for collaborative philanthropy.
