Overview Uganda Women’s Network (UWONET) is a women’s rights advocacy organization that exists to coordinate collective action among women’s rights and gender equality stakeholders for the attainment of gender equality and equity in Uganda.
UWONET was born out of the East African Women’s Conference held in Kampala in 1993 in preparation for the UN World Conference on Women in Beijing, China in 1995.
UWONET’s membership currently is comprised of 23 national women’s organizations and 9 individuals. UWONET is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) with a secretariat in Kampala- Uganda. UWONET’ envisions a Ugandan society free from gender discrimination and her mission is to transform unequal gender relations through collective visioning and action.

OverviewSave for Health Uganda (SHU) is a local (Ugandan) not-for-profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) formed in 2002 and registered on 7th March 2003. SHU is mandated to implement programmes aiming at improving people’s access to quality healthcare services country-wide. SHU currently works in 11 districts namely: Luwero, Nakaseke, Nakasongola, Mityana, Kassanda, Bushenyi, Sheema, Mitooma, Iganga, Mayuge and Bugweri. The head office located in Nansana Municipality, Wakiso district and coordinates all activities while field offices in the districts of Luwero, Mityana, Bushenyi and Iganga serve as centers for community mobilization.
